There is more good news for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users. Box.net announced that until December 2, 2011, anybody who downloads the Box.net app from the Apple iTunes App Store will get 50GB of free storage for life! It doesn’t matter if you are already a registered user or a new user, as long as you download the app to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, register your existing account or set up a new account, you’ll automatically received 50GB of free storage. Normally Box.net’s 50GB storage plan cost a one time fee $19.00, so this is promotion saves you that fee. Plus they are giving users a higher file size limit of 100MB as opposed to the normal 25MB (normally a higher file size incurs additional monthly charges).

“We also updated our app with a few features that’ll make your free 50 GB even more powerful. Using AirPlay, you can now wirelessly stream Box content to an Apple TV for effortless projection of photos, videos, presentations and more.” Read more of the official announcement on Box.Net’s blog.

I jumped on this opportunity myself and downloaded the Box.net app on my iPod Touch (we can always use more free space)! The app is very easy to use, reminiscent of the Dropbox app. you can easily take a photo and upload it directly to your Box.net account. You can also search for files on your device to easily upload to the cloud. Of course, it goes without saying that having your files easily accessible on a mobile device is not only convenient, but very efficient. Below are some screenshots of the app.
